- Vetoes (rejects) bills
- Enforces the laws
- Serves as Commander in Chief of the military
The president can also make treaties, appoint judges and officials, and grant pardons. But the four answers above are the easiest to remember.
Notice how these powers connect to the other branches: Congress writes the bills, and the president signs or vetoes them. That back-and-forth is part of checks and balances.
